Bidirectional Shift Register. Initially all the flip flops in the register are reset by driving their clear pins high. Bidirectional shift registers are the registers which are capable of shifting the data either right or left depending on the mode selected.
Similarly if a binary number is shifted right by one position then it is equivalent to dividing the original number by 2. The bidirectional shift register can be defined as the register in which the data can be shifted either left of right.
