Double Bus Double Breaker Scheme. Double bus with double breaker scheme. Substations with the double bus double breaker arrangement require twice the equipment as the single bus scheme but are highly reliable.
In double breaker bus bar system two identical bus bars are used in such a way that any outgoing or incoming feeder can be taken from any of the bus similar to double bus bar system. Load balancing between buses can be achieved by shifting circuits from one bus to the other. In double bus single breaker the second bus transfer is designed to carry full load as the main bus and therefore full rating whereas the main transfer scheme envisages only temporary use of transfer second bus and therefore a lower rating.
Here the second bus is used as standby bus.
Double breaker double bus configuration. A typical duplicate busbar arrangement is shown in figure 7. Double breaker double bus configuration. This article outlines double bus single breaker scheme trip transfer switch tts and bus coupler breaker and its purpose.
