Be very careful that you keep the current and voltage within the device ratings. It can switch loads up to 60 volts with a peak current of 8 amperes and a continuous current of 5 amperes. For driver transistors the 100 ohm range would be satisfactory and for small signal transistors use the 1k ohm range.
