Rain Detector Circuit Diagram. When the rain water sensor detects the rain it sends a signal to the 555 timer. The block diagram of the rain alarm project is shown in the following image.
The points a and b of the circuit are connected to the points a and b of the rain sensor respectively. The 555 timer ic which is configured in its astable mode will then activate the buzzer. The three main components of the project are the rain water sensor 555 timer ic and buzzer.
When rain is falling the rain water will fall on the rain sensor which has aluminum wires on mica or bakelite sheet.
The working of the above circuit is rather simple. When rain is falling the rain water will fall on the rain sensor which has aluminum wires on mica or bakelite sheet. Whenever there is a rain rain drops falls on the rain sensor and as you can see in the diagram of rain sensor water on rain sensor would short the point a and b. Lcd is connected with portc of pic16f877a microcontroller which will display the status of rain.
